Lisa Maddalena, ND
With an appreciation for human health and science I attended the University of Guelph studying in Biomedical Sciences. It was there that I found a passion for clinical nutrition and “food as medicine,” which inspired me to complete my Masters in Nutritional Sciences. While I was studying my Masters I was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine, where I found the perfect balance between health science and natural healing. From there I went on to complete a 4-year naturopathic medicine program and The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
I am a strong proponent of preventive and integrative medicine in order to help my patients achieve their health care goals. I treat each patient individually and holistically with an evidence based approach that focuses on integrating best medical practices.
Since graduating I have become passionate about balancing hormones whether it is PMS, PCOS, Acne, irregular periods, Perimenopause, or Menopause. I believe that women should feel well no mater what time of the month it is or what stage of your life you are in. Having a stable mood, feeling energized and having regular periods, it is possible with individualized treatment. I have done extensive continuing education in hormone assessment and the use of Bioidentical Hormone replacement.
Though I focus on hormonal health I maintain a general practice and enjoy helping people address their digestive issues as I firmly believe that digestion is at the root of most health conditions.
I am currently licensed and Ontario Board certified through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and am a member of both the Ontario and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. I am also licensed to prescribe in Ontario and am IV therapy certified.
