Lisa Maddalena, ND
With an appreciation for human health and science, Lisa attended the University of Guelph, studying Biomedical Sciences. It was there that she found a passion for clinical nutrition and “food as medicine,” which inspired her to complete a Masters of Science in Nutritional Sciences. While studying for her Masters she was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine, in which she found the perfect combination between health science and natural healing. From there she went on to complete the 4 year, Naturopathic Medicine program at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. After finishing school, Lisa’s deep roots in family and community led her back to the Niagara Region, where she was raised. It is here that she has established a practice, in Port Colborne.
Lisa is a strong proponent of preventive and integrative medicine in order to help her patients achieve their healthcare goals. She treats each patient individually and holistically looking at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of health. She currently runs a general practice, however her special interests lie in digestive health and women’s health in addition she has extra training in the treatment of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and diabetes.
For Lisa, Naturopathic Medicine is not just a profession but a way of life and therefore she choses to live a healthy and active lifestyle. In her spare time she enjoys jogging, reading, cooking and soaking up as much Vitamin D that she can!
Lisa is licensed and Ontario Board certified through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is a member of both the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Naturopathic Doctors. She frequently attends continuing education seminars to advance her knowledge in naturopathic medicine and keeps up to date with current research. She is now accepting new patients.
